The 30 nominees for the 2026 Ballon d’Or have been revealed, with Harry Kane, Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland among the leading contenders for the prestigious award.

Kane enjoyed an extraordinary past year for Bayern Munich, scoring 73 goals in 65 appearances as his side won the Bundesliga, German Cup and German Super Cup.

Manchester City striker Haaland also enjoyed another prolific year, scoring 58 times and providing 11 assists in 64 matches while winning the FA Cup and EFL Cup.

Mbappe matched Haaland’s tally of 58 goals for Real Madrid over 12 months, as well as contributing 13 assists, though the Frenchman ended the campaign without a major trophy.

Barcelona teenager Yamal is another leading contender following a remarkable year in which he helped Spain win the World Cup and Barcelona lift La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. The 19-year-old finished with 25 goals and 20 assists in 57 appearances.

Paris Saint-Germain are heavily represented following another trophy-laden season, with Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves, Willian Pacho, Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha all nominated.

Dembele scored 26 goals and registered 14 assists as PSG won the Champions League, Ligue 1, Intercontinental Cup, European Super Cup and French Super Cup.

Arsenal’s Premier League title success has also been recognised, with Declan Rice, Gabriel and William Saliba making the shortlist. Rice has recorded eight goals and 14 assists in his last 69 appearances.

England are also represented by Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham and Kane, while Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been included after registering 13 goals and 25 assists.

Eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi is back among the nominees after another remarkable individual campaign. The Argentina star recorded 45 goals and 30 assists in 49 games for Inter Miami, helping his side win MLS and also following an outstanding World Cup with his country.

Bayern duo Michael Olise and Luis Diaz also make the cut following excellent seasons, with Olise recording 27 goals and 35 assists while Diaz contributed 30 goals and 23 assists.
