Myles Lewis-Skelly has signed a new five-year contract with Arsenal.
The club confirmed the news on Thursday. It has been reported elsewhere that the new contract will make Lewis-Skelly one of the world’s best-paid young players.
Lewis-Skelly began last season playing for the Under-21s, but went on to enjoy a stellar breakthrough season with the Gunners first team, largely playing out of position at left-back during 39 appearances across all competitions.
He made his debut against Manchester City and went on to face Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter- and semi-finals.
In March, Lewis-Skelley earned his first senior England call-up, and scored on his debut against Albania at Wembley, becoming the youngest player in history to do so.
Last week Lewis-Skelly was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
Arsenal recently announced that Gabriel had signed a new contract, and the club have opened talks with centre-back partner William Saliba over an extension.
understands that negotiations with talisman Bukayo Saka are due to ramp up this summer as he enters the final two years of his current deal.
