Arsenal moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League after beating Crystal Palace.

Eberechi Eze scored the only goalagainst his former club, lashing home from a set-piece in the first half.

The Gunners controlled much of the game and, while they were not at their best, secured a big win on a weekend when both Liverpool and Manchester City lost.

Simon Collings was at Emirates Stadium to see Arsenal in action...

David Raya 6

A comfortable afternoon for the goalkeeper, who had very little to do all as Arsenal dominated possession.

Jurrien Timber 7

Another good performance from the right-back and he is in the groove right now. Went on a few great mazy runs forward.

William Saliba 6

Had a good battle with Jean-Philippe Mateta and the Palace striker caused him some problems. Taken off at half-time.

Passed a late fitness test and showed his importance. Made a few big blocks and hit the crossbar from a set-piece.

Riccardo Calafiori 7

Restored to the team after being given a rest in midweek. A solid performance, even if he did not get forward as much as he usually does.

Eberechi Eze 7 | Star player

Arsenal’s hero as he returned to haunt his former club. The finish for his goal was emphatic and exactly the type of magic moment Arteta signed him to produce.

Martin Zubimendi 6

Guilty of the odd sloppy pass, which is unlike him. Out of possession, he broke up play fairly well.

Declan Rice 7

Created the goal with, yet another, excellent set-piece. Unlucky not to score himself, but Dean Henderson denied him with a top save.

Bukayo Saka 6

A quiet afternoon for the winger. He went close with one effort early in the second half, but otherwise struggled to make an impact.

Viktor Gyokeres 6

Made a few dangerous runs in behind, however he could not make the most of them. Linked the play well with his back to goal.

Leandro Trossard 7

One of Arsenal’s brighter players, especially early in the second half. Almost teed up Saka for a second goal.

Substitutions

Cristhian Mosquera (Saliba 45’) 6

On for Saliba earlier than expected and slotted into the defence. Steady.

Gabriel Martinelli (Saka 66’) 6

Tried to add an injection of pace to Arsenal’s attack, but was quiet.

Piero Hincapie (Calafiori 83’) N/A

Mikel Merino (Rice 83’) N/A

Subs not used: Arrizabalaga, White, Norgaard, Nwaneri
