The German national team are due to play a couple of friendly matches over the break, facing Switzerland on Friday, March 27th and Ghana on Monday, March 30th.

Despite the fact there are no competitive fixtures, this will still feel like a big call-up for Havertz.

The 26-year-old last featured for Germany in November 2024, scoring one goal and assisting two more in a pair of Nations League games against Bosnia & Herzegovina and Hungary.

Havertz then missed the Nations League finals in March and June with a hamstring injury, before missing Germany’s World Cup qualifiers in September, October, and November with a knee injury.

Back fit and firing for Arsenal, Havertz will be pleased Germany have recognised his comeback by putting him back in their squad, as this is the last chance he’ll have to prove himself before the summer and the 2026 World Cup.

Arsenal fans will be crossing their fingers that Havertz can avoid injury over the break, but perhaps it could be argued he needs the minutes as he continues to get back to full match sharpness.
