Following the news of Kim Little signing a contract extension with Arsenal, the former Scottish international’s club teammates took to social media expressing their delight at the deal.

Leah Williamson shared an Instagram post labelling the 32-year-old a “blessing” to the club. The two have played together for Arsenal as far back as 2008, when Williamson was just a teenager.

Little made her debut for Arsenal aged just 17 and has since amassed 290 appearances for the Gunners across two spells with the club. With this newest contract, it looks as though Captain Kim is set to finish her outstanding club career with the Gunners.

Arsenal nation is in celebration over the new deal. Little’s teammates have been amongst the happiest to hear and share the tremendous news. Australian international Caitlin Foord shared her joy in the No.10’s new contract via Instagram.

“Our captain here to stay,” she wrote.

A heartwarming video released by Arsenal also had current and former players describe the midfielder in just one word. Among the responses were “colossal”, “inspiring” and “irreplaceable.”

With 164 goals for her club, there is no doubt that Little has left a profound and lasting impact on the Gunners.

Speaking to Arsenal, the 32-year-old said on the extension: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract at Arsenal. Thinking back to when I first joined at the age of 17, I’m so proud of the progress that we have made together. Arsenal has been such an important part of my life and over time this club has become my home.”
