The England u15s and u16s have confirmed their squads for upcoming international camps in December, with five Arsenal youth players involved.

Luis Munoz (13) and Jaden Maghoma (14) have both been called up by the England u15s, who are due to face Iceland on Monday, December 15th, Spain on Wednesday, December 17th, and Italy on Saturday, December 20th.

Then Charlie Phillips, Mishel Nduka, and Emerson Nwaneri (all 15) have been called up by the England u16s for two 80-minute matches against the Netherlands on December 17th and 18th.

All five matches for the two teams will be played at St. George’s Park.

Despite the fact all five players are 15 or younger, they’re all sufficiently highly-rated by Arsenal to have been involved with the club’s u19 side recently.

Munoz became the youngest UEFA Youth League player in history when he came off the bench in the win over FC Bayern, and Maghoma then made a substitute appearance of his own in the following game against Club Brugge.

Emerson Nwaneri, the younger brother of Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri, was also involved off the bench against Bayern, whilst Nduka made the starting lineup against Brugge.

Phillips is the only one of the five not to play in this season’s Youth League campaign, but he was on the bench against Bayern, and it’s always more difficult to break into the team as a goalkeeper. Substitute appearances are few and far between in that position.

Phillips, Nduka, and Nwaneri have all been involved with the England u15s in the past, so this is just the natural progression up the ranks for the trio.

The Arsenal academy are largely on a winter break at the moment, though the call-ups do mean it’s unlikely any of the five players will be involved in the u18 FA Youth Cup match away to Mansfield Town on Monday, December 15th.

Given the five of them have a combined eight minutes on the pitch for the Arsenal u18s this season, that shouldn’t have a significant impact on the team.
