Arsenal have again been linked with a move for Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa, with concerns over William Saliba’s fitness.

Saliba was forced off in France’s World Cup semi-final defeat having been struggling with a back injury of late.

Whether the central defender needs a spell on the sidelines is unclear as of yet, with the 25-year-old being assessed.

But Konsa has emerged as a potential option for the Gunners, with The Guardian reporting that Arsenal have expressed an interest in the England defender.

Arsenal are also expected to make an offer to sign Konsa’s club and international team-mate Morgan Rogers.

The 23-year-old has long been a top target for Arsenal, who are now said to be preparing a bid to sign the attacker now his involvement at the World Cup is coming to an end.

Cristos Tzolis’ move to the Emirates, meanwhile, is getting closer, with Arsenal having agreed a deal to bring in the Club Brugge winger.

But Barcelona president Joan Laporta has again reiterated his desire to sign Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, who Arsenal are also keen on.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa are are close to confirming the signing of Joao Gomes from Wolves for around £38m. Fabrizio Romano also reports that Villa have agreed personal terms with AC Milan left-back Pervis Estupinan.

Nottingham Forest are set to launch a £45m bid to sign Spurs midfielder Lucas Bergvall after seeing an offer rejected for the Sweden international, according to BBC Sport, and still want to sign another midfielder alongside Bergvall.

Newcastle are in talks over moves for two goalkeepers – Brighton’s Carl Rushworth and Manchester City’s James Trafford, The Daily Mail say.

And Dominik Szoboszlai is set to sign a new deal at Liverpool which runs until 2031.
