Paris Saint-Germain are shifting their strategy, moving away from signing big-name stars under sporting advisor Luis Campos. However, growing interest from other clubs could threaten PSG’s ability to keep Campos.
During his three years in Paris, Campos has helped bring in promising young talents like Vitinha, Bradley Barcola, and João Neves. Before joining PSG, he had a successful tenure with AS Monaco and LOSC Lille.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are searching for a new sporting director following Edu Gaspar’s departure in early November. According to TBR Football, intermediaries have suggested several potential candidates, including the well-respected Simon Rolfes from Germany.
Another possibility is Roberto Olabe, who is stepping down from his position at Real Sociedad. The report also lists Campos as a potential target for the role. Moreover, Football Transfer’s Robin Bairner reported last month that Arsenal have approached Campos to take over from Edu.

Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that Olabe is a concrete candidate to succeed Edu at Arsenal. Olabe previously brought Alexander Isak to Real Sociedad, and the two maintain a great relationship.
The 25-year-old Newcastle striker is on Arsenal’s radar for the summer, with his contract at Newcastle running until 2028. It will be interesting to see if the Gunners revisit their interest in Campos or if this file falls by the wayside.
