Arsenal have signed promising academy talent Evan Mooney from Scottish Premiership side St Mirren.

Mooney has joined the Arsenal academy and can play as an attacking midfield or a striker. He has made 23 appearances in all competitions for St Mirren since making his senior debut at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign, and is 18-years-old.

The forward is a Scottish international and has made six appearances for his country at under-19 level.

Arsenal had also held talks with Hearts regarding another Scottish teenager, James Wilson, but he ultimately decided to join their bitter rivals Tottenham.

It was in the end a quiet transfer window for the Gunners, and they are next in action against Chelsea in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.

They go into the game with a 3-2 lead on aggregate.
