Arsenal star Christos Tzolis is reportedly set to miss Greece’s UEFA Nations League home meeting with Germany on Sunday after picking up an injury against the Netherlands.
The winger went off after 18 minutes of Greece’s 2-2 draw on Thursday, with local reports indicating he is unlikely to feature.
“I think it was a scene that everyone saw, those who were nearby. I told him to get out, because I suspected that he wouldn't have done that if he hadn't felt something. We don't know how much damage was done today, but I hoped it was just a twitch, something temporary,” said Greece coach Ivan Jovanovic, speaking to Sport24.
“Certainly first as a coach I have to take the decision to replace the player, because it was a muscular issue. It wasn't a problem, like an ankle or something else. But when it's muscular issues, that, along with the doctors, with the immediate information I have, was the reason I asked for it to come out immediately.”
The sides meet in Thessaloniki, with Germany aiming to avenge their 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture.
