Arsenal recroded their second victory of the Champions League campaign by beating Shakhtar Donetsk at the Emirates Stadium last night.
An own goal from Dmytro Riznyk sealed the win for the Gunners, but they could have easily triumphed by a bigger margin.
The Gunners were unconvincing with their finishing, and Leandro Trossard also squandered a glorious chance from the penalty spot.
Arsenal could have shared the spoils in stoppage time, but goalkeeper David Raya came up with a splendid diving save towards his left.
Shakhtar forward Pedrinho unleashed a powerful strike from 30 yards out, but Raya denied him a dramatic equaliser with his left arm.
Raya had only 24 touches in the game, with 14 passes and three long balls. It was a relatively comfortable night for him until his stupendous save.
Arsenal have picked up seven points from their opening three league games in the Champions League. They are fourth in the table.
The Gunners will be back in Premier League action against leaders Liverpool at home on Sunday.
It could be a huge game in the title race, considering the Gunners are already four points behind the Reds and can’t afford to slip up further this weekend.
Manager Mikel Arteta has a big selection headache ahead of the game. He must pick a different centre-back with William Saliba suspended.
Riccardo Calafiori suffered a possible knee injury yesterday, which could force a change at left-back.
