Myles Lewis-Skelly says Arsenal sent a message to their European rivals in their 3-1 win over Inter Milan.
A double from Gabriel Jesus and Viktor Gyokeres’ late strike secured a statement away win for the Gunners and Lewis-Skelly says he feels as though the squad have taken another step forward this season.
“It was massive,” Lewis-Skelly said on the win.
“It was important for us to send a message to the rest of our competitors and I feel like we definitely did that.
“We keep making steps in the right direction which is good.
“As a team, I feel like we’ve taken another step. The connection, the unity and the harmony that we play with, off the pitch as well it’s evident to see.
“We just have to make sure that we take an opportunity whenever we get the chance.”
Lewis-Skelly also says the strength in depth Arsenal have in attack has been key to their form this season, with Mikel Arteta’s side sitting top of the Premier League and Champions League standings.
“It’s frightening for me to see the options we have up top,” he said.
“That’s another strength of ours, our depth. Every player is happy to play and support and that’s why it’s such a good bunch.”
