Arsenal star scores in Brazil win over Australia | OneFootball

Arsenal’s Bruno Guimaraes helped Brazil to get back to winning ways with a goal in Tuesday’s victory over Australia, with Gabriel Magalhaes also featuring.

Brazil’s post-World Cup refresh didn’t get off to the best start last week, as they were fortunate to scrape a 1-1 draw in a poor performance away to Australia, thanks to a 95th-minute equaliser.

The good news was they had an immediate chance to make amends, facing the same opponents in the same venue for another friendly on Tuesday.

Arsenal duo Bruno Guimaraes and Gabriel Magalhaes both started the match, and Guimaraes ended up playing a key role in Brazil’s eventual win.

Things started off pretty well for Brazil, with Vanderson giving the team a third-minute lead. But Australia fought back, going 2-1 up in the next half hour.

There wasn’t much Gabriel could do about the goals, with a teammate taking the ball off his head to set up Alessandro Circati’s opener, before Connor Metcalfe fired home an impressive finish from distance. But Brazil found themselves needing to make another comeback.

Raphinha levelled the scores just before half-time, before Arsenal’s Guimaraes helped his team to retake the lead. The midfielder’s late run into the penalty area was found by Endrick, and he had a simple task to tap home for 3-2.

With Vinicius Junior securing the result from the penalty spot in the 80th minute, Brazil left with a 4-2 win. Attentions will now turn to their final friendly of the break, away to India on October 3rd.
