Arsenal youngster Miguel Azeez has today agreed to take his talents to Spain, with Atlético Baleares.

That’s according to transfer insider David Ornstein of The Athletic, who has provided an insight into the altogether unexpected move.

Azeez, for his part, was once viewed as one of the standout young talents in England, after making his way through the youth ranks of Premier League giants Arsenal.

A midfielder boasting technical quality in abundance, the English youth international was tipped by many to one day break into the first-team setup in north London.

The last couple of years, however, have seen as much fail to materialise.

In fact, after being sent out on a series of loan stints, Azeez struggled to piece together game-time with any of Portsmouth, UD Ibiza, or Wigan Athletic.

The powers that be at Arsenal, in turn, had long come to the decision not to renew the Hale End product’s contract, ahead of its expiration in the summer.

And this has opened the door for the aforementioned Atlético Baleares of Spanish football’s 3rd tier to swoop.

As per The Athletic:

‘Arsenal midfielder Miguel Azeez is set to bring his career at the club to an end by signing for Atletico Baleares.’

The deal is expected to come in the form of a permanent one, with Azeez primed to put pen to paper on a short-term contract in Majorca.
