Arsenal may be facing a significant setback that could compel them to re-enter the transfer market before the current window closes. The club has already been active this summer, securing important additions to strengthen their squad.
With Gabriel Jesus sidelined since the beginning of the year, Arsenal moved to bring in Viktor Gyökeres. His arrival ensured that, alongside Kai Havertz, the Gunners would have two recognised strikers available as they prepared for a demanding campaign.
However, the situation has taken a turn for the worse. Havertz, who had already experienced injury problems towards the end of last season, has now suffered another setback. According to The Daily Mail, despite featuring briefly in Arsenal’s opening fixture of the season against Manchester United, he sustained an injury that is expected to keep him out for weeks, with the possibility of a longer absence stretching into months.
This development leaves Arsenal in a precarious position. The club had been counting on Havertz and Gyökeres to share the workload, particularly with Jesus still far from making a return to full fitness. Losing Havertz at such a crucial time significantly reduces their attacking options and places greater strain on the squad.

The injury could now force Arsenal’s hierarchy to reassess their transfer strategy before the window shuts. With limited attacking resources available, the club may have little choice but to pursue an additional forward. While Gyökeres remains fit and ready to lead the line, relying on him alone for an extended period may not be sustainable, especially given the intensity of the Premier League and the demands of European competition.
This situation presents both a challenge and an opportunity. The blow of losing Havertz cannot be underestimated, yet the timing means Arsenal still have the option to respond in the market. Reinforcing the frontline before the deadline could prove decisive in maintaining momentum during what is expected to be a highly competitive season.
The coming weeks will be critical as Arsenal decide whether to place their trust in the current squad or act decisively to secure another striker capable of filling the gap.
