Arsenal target loves their interest but wants to stay in Germany

Christian Kofane is one of the players Arsenal have been following over the last few months, but the attacker appears determined to continue playing for Bayer Leverkusen for now.

At 20, Kofane is already one of the most important players for the Cameroon national team and has also been in fine form for his club in Germany. His performances have caught Arsenal’s attention, with the Gunners monitoring his progress as they consider their options for the future.

Since last season, Arsenal have considered Kofane one of their main summer targets and had been looking to add him to their squad during this transfer window. His potential makes him an attractive option, particularly as he continues to develop at Leverkusen.

Kofane has significant potential, and remaining at a club such as Leverkusen could help him develop further. Arsenal therefore need to ensure they do not miss out on the opportunity to sign him if his situation changes.

However, completing a move this summer could prove difficult because the attacker appears to have made up his mind to remain in Germany. He has expressed his satisfaction with life at Leverkusen and believes the Bundesliga provides him with an excellent environment to continue developing.

His comments suggest that Kofane is not in a hurry to leave the club, despite Arsenal’s long-standing interest. The Gunners may therefore have to wait if they want to pursue a deal for the Cameroon international.

Kofane wants to stay

As quoted by Standard Sports, Kofane said: “I can certainly imagine it, yes. It’s one of the best leagues in the world.

“But I want to take it step by step. I’m young and still have big plans with Bayer Leverkusen.

“Bayer Leverkusen a great club that has given me a great opportunity and a lot of confidence.

“I feel very comfortable here.”

Kofane’s comments make his current position clear. He wants to take his development step by step and remains committed to Leverkusen, where he feels comfortable and appreciates the confidence shown in him.

For Arsenal, that means a summer move looks difficult. The Gunners can continue monitoring his progress, but Kofane’s desire to remain in Germany means they may have to wait for another opportunity to pursue his signature.
