Arsenal’s teenage midfielder Maddy Earl has joined Bristol City on a dual-registration basis.

The Robins announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this morning.

The 17-year-old will initially spend the first half of the season with Bristol City as she continues her development.

Earl is a product of the Arsenal academy system. The player is yet to make her competitive first team debut for Arsenal but she has been named amongst the substitutes on a handful of occasions. Earl featured for The Gunners in their exhibition match against the A-League All Stars back in May.

The player needs regular game to build her senior experience and she will now get that at Bristol City.

After sealing her move to Bristol City, Earl said “It feels amazing to be here and the club has been so welcoming, and it just feels great.

“I like to be unpredictable and bring creativity, so I hope I can add something new to the team and we can get the win on Sunday.”

Earl is Bristol City’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window. The player could make her debut for The Robins in their Barclays Women’s Championship fixture at Southampton on Sunday.
