Arsenal ‘to press on’ for Osimhen if he accepts pay cut | OneFootball

Arsenal have opened talks with Galatasaray over a move for Victor Osimhen, 27, though a proposal is not imminent.

Foot Mercato reports that the Premier League champions want a dependable goalscorer to compete with Viktor Gyokeres and broaden Mikel Arteta’s attacking options.

The Gunners begin their title defence today, Friday, against newly promoted Coventry City.

Osimhen produced 30 goal contributions for Galatasaray last season, a return that has put him among Arteta’s preferred options.

The Nigerian earns a net annual salary of 20 million euros at the Turkish club and is contracted until 2029.

Arsenal will not match those wages and would persist with their interest only if he accepts a pay cut. The two sides are currently some distance apart on personal terms.
