Arsenal are reportedly set to “step up” their pursuit of Aston Villa attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers.

The Daily Mail reckon Arsenal’s England contingent could help to try to persuade Rogers to join the north London club, despite having a World Cup campaign to focus on with the Three Lions.

Declan Rice is even claimed to be “working away on Rogers, hoping to help influence his decision”.

Rogers is believed to be valued at around £85m, with Chelsea also keen on the 23-year-old. His former club Middlesbrough are said to hold a sell on clause too, which has to be factored in to any potential deal.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports say Tottenham have had an £80m bid turned down by Newcastle United for midfielder Sandro Tonali.

Arsenal and Manchester City are also believed to be keen on the Italian, but Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi has made him a top target for his squad rebuild.

Sky Sports are also reporting that RB Leipzig would be open to selling their star forward Yan Diomande for a whopping £112m fee.

Diomande, who is currently at the World Cup with Ivory Coast, is a top target for Liverpool but is also attracting interest from PSG, Manchester United, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Elsewhere, Atalanta midfielder Ederson says his long expected move to Manchester United is “almost done”, as quoted by Sky Italy.

And The Times say Liverpool have been left frustrated by Inter Milan’s £21.6m offer for midfielder Curtis Jones, and do not think they are being serious about their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
