So far, Arsenal’s summer transfer window appears to be going according to plan.
While Mikel Arteta has admitted that no window ever goes entirely to plan, this one may be as close as he has experienced.
The Gunners have strengthened across the pitch: a top striker in Viktor Gyökeres, defensive cover in Cristhian Mosquera, midfield additions in Martin Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard, a winger in Noni Madueke and Goalkeeper Kepa Arizzabalaga. It is the kind of ambitious summer that many Arsenal fans have long hoped for.
The business is not finished, with Eberechi Eze expected to arrive next from Crystal Palace. But alongside arrivals, Arsenal are also expected to sell players to balance their summer spending.
Interestingly, two names previously tipped for departure now appear set to stay.
According to Football Transfers, Leandro Trossard and Oleksandr Zinchenko are no longer expected to leave the club, despite attracting interest from abroad.
Trossard had reportedly drawn interest from both Fenerbahçe and Bayern Munich, while Zinchenko was being tracked by AC Milan and several Premier League sides. Though the pair could have generated respectable transfer fees, Arsenal now look set to keep them both.

It is understood that Zinchenko submitted a transfer request earlier in the window, prompting the club to begin looking at left-sided defensive options. However, following conversations with Arteta, the Ukrainian international has now recommitted to the project in north London.
Trossard, meanwhile, is expected to sign a new deal. Contract talks had stalled in recent weeks, but discussions have since resumed and a compromise is now said to be close.
With the Belgian and the Ukrainian set to stay, attention turns to who may still leave the club, with Thomas Partey, Kieran Tierney and Jorginho having already moved on this summer.
Reiss Nelson has also been linked with an exit, though he recently impressed in a pre-season appearance. Could he be staying too?
