Victor Osimhen, who was closely linked with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain up until the last week of the summer transfer window, might be on his way to a Premier League club next year. One former player is advising his ex-club to consider the Nigerian to bolster their attack.

The 25-year-old ended up joining Galatasaray on loan after a permanent transfer from Napoli didn’t go through. Despite the loan move, Osimhen continues to show why he’s considered one of the world’s top strikers. He has scored six goals and added four assists in just eight games across all competitions so far.

According to the Turkish outlet Sozcu, Galatasaray is keen to make his stay permanent, with the club reportedly ready to offer £42 million to secure his signature.

The Chronicle reports that Newcastle United might be able to sign the player when he starts seeking a new club at the end of the season.

Osimhen’s agents think Newcastle is one of several Premier League teams that could be interested in making a big move for their client.

Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has urged the club to sign Osimhen in the January transfer window.

“If I could sign one player for Arsenal in January, it would be a world-class striker, but they are not available in January,” Gallas said (h/t GOAL).

“No top, top strikers are available at the moment. I wanted to speak about Osimhen because I know he’s at Galatasaray, and I still don’t understand why he’s there. That’s the type of profile Arsenal need.”
