Arsenal ‘very attentive’ to situation of Barcelona star | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has made his way onto the transfer radar of Premier League champions Arsenal.

This comes amid the understanding that Mikel Arteta and co. are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding Jules Koundé.

Stopper Koundé has of course been linked with a potential departure from Barcelona throughout the summer to date. Fresh off something of a hit-and-miss campaign in 2025/26, it has been suggested that, for the right price, the Camp Nou brass could be open to a sale.

The Frenchman is not considered as being on the exit ramp, but should Koundé make it known that he is eyeing a new challenge, Hansi Flick and co. would likely not stand in his way.

And as alluded to above, ready to pounce in the case of such a scenario coming to fruition are those in the boardroom at none other than Arsenal.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Arsenal are still very attentive to his situation and Mikel Arteta believes that the Frenchman fits perfectly into the profile he is looking for to strengthen a defence that needs to incorporate players.’

Arteta and co, it is added, appreciate Koundé’s ability to line out at both right-back and in central defence.
