Harry Kane makes his return to north London for a high-profile fixture that pits together the runaway early leaders of the Premier League and Bundesliga respectively, and the top two in the league phase of Europe’s elite club competition heading into matchday five.

Arsenal are soaring with confidence after opening up a six-point advantage at the top-flight summit with a 4-1 demolition of Kane’s former club Tottenham in the derby on Sunday, bouncing back in style from their last-gasp draw at promoted Sunderland thanks to Eberechi Eze’s hat-trick.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners have also made a dream start in the Champions League, easily dispatching of Athletic Club, Olympiacos, Atletico Madrid and Slavia Prague to maintain their 100 per cent record - scoring 11 goals and conceding none.

But they face by far their toughest test yet against Bayern, who are still unbeaten in all competitions this term and are also six points clear domestically after putting six goals past lowly Freiburg as Michael Olise registered a goal and hat-trick of assists.

Vincent Kompany’s side have also made a perfect start in the Champions League, brushing aside Chelsea, Pafos and Club Brugge before edging out holders Paris Saint-Germain away earlier this month as Luis Diaz notched a brace and was then sent off.

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off on Wednesday November 26, 2025.

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich team news

Arsenal’s significant injury problems are finally beginning to ease, with Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli both returning to the matchday squad against Spurs and Riccardo Calafiori shaking off a hip issue to start.

Captain Martin Odegaard and star striker Viktor Gyokeres are also closing in on their respective comebacks, while Gabriel Jesus is building up his fitness in the aftermath of a long-term knee injury.

Arsenal will find out on Wednesday a more clear time frame for the return of influential centre-back Gabriel, who is set to undergo another scan on his adductor injury sustained playing for Brazil last week.

As for Bayern, Diaz is suspended after being hit with a three-game ban by UEFA for his red-card tackle on Achraf Hakimi against PSG, with Kompany facing a dilemma as to who is best to replace the former Liverpool star in his attack alongside Olise and Kane.

Captain Manuel Neuer recovered from illness to start against Freiburg, while Joshua Kimmich and Hiroki Ito were both involved after respective absences.

However, ex-Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry missed the game with a minor knock picked up on international duty with Germany, while teenage sensation Lennart Karl has also been dealing with a small problem of late.

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich prediction

Arguably the two best teams in Europe at the moment collide in what is an enormous game at the Emirates.

It is so hard to pick between Arsenal and Bayern, who have both been so dominant so far this season both at home and in Europe, scoring plenty of goals and conceding very few.

Bayern may previously have had the psychological edge given some of the humblings they have dished out in this fixture previously, but this is a different Gunners team now with a far tougher mentality and resolve.

We anticipate an entertaining back-and-forth tussle not short on goalmouth action in which momentum swings sharply and frequently, resulting in a hard-fought share of the spoils and Kane inevitably on the scoresheet at least once.

Draw, 2-2.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Bayern have dominated this fixture over the last decade, winning four of the last five matches and scoring five times on three separate occasions to embarrass Arsenal.

The Gunners have not beaten the German giants since 2015, when Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud were on the scoresheet in a 2-0 group-stage triumph at the Emirates.
