Arsenal face Como at the Emirates in the club’s final pre-season friendly this evening.

The Gunners welcome the former midfielder Cesc Fabregas and the Italian side to North London, in their final warm-up before next weekend’s Community Shield. Arsenal face Manchester City in the Premier League’s traditional curtain-raiser on August 16th.

Mikel Arteta will want clear improvement from his team after recent pre-season performances, having conceded three goals in successive games during defeats to Real Betis and Borussia Dortmund.

Bruno Guimaraes could make his debut for Arsenal in tonight’s tie, after completing his £75m move from Newcastle United.

The Arsenal names who reached the latter stages of this summer’s World Cup, including Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, have also returned to training this week.

However, that group, which includes World Cup winner David Raya, Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi, are unlikely to feature.
