League leaders Arsenal host Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, aiming to solidify their position at the top against opponents looking to rediscover their form.
The Gunners are riding high after a superb midweek Champions League win against Atletico Madrid. Crystal Palace, conversely, arrive winless in their last three matches after their long unbeaten run finally came to an end.
Mikel Arteta faces a late decision over defender Gabriel, who picked up a knock in midweek but is expected to be available. However, the manager remains without captain Martin Ødegaard and fellow attackers Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Noni Madueke due to knee injuries.
Oliver Glasner has few injury concerns, with only long-term absentees Cheick Doucouré, Chadi Riad, and Caleb Kporha unavailable. Key players Chris Richards, Daichi Kamada, and Adam Wharton are expected to return to the starting lineup after being rested for the midweek European fixture.
The Gunners are in scintillating form, sitting top of the table and having won six of their last eight league games. Their defence has been exceptional, keeping five clean sheets and conceding just three goals – the best record in the division. Furthermore, Arsenal boast an excellent home record when starting the day top, losing just two of 70 such matches.
The Eagles’ superb 19-match unbeaten run ended abruptly before the international break. They followed that defeat with a draw and, most recently, a disappointing home loss to AEK Larnaca in Europe, leaving them winless in three. Despite this dip, their high chance creation numbers suggest they remain a threat, although missed chances have been costly.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Zubimendi, Eze; Saka, Gyokeres, Trossard.
Crystal Palace predicted XI: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guéhi; Muñoz, Wharton, Kamada, Mitchell; Pino, Sarr; Mateta.
The match will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports Premier League.
