Arsenal welcome Everton to the Emirates this weekend as Mikel Arteta takes on his former team.
The Gunners are unbeaten since returning from November’s international break and head into the clash after a comfortable Champions League win over AS Monaco.
Arsenal, however, have ground to make up in the title race with a six-point gap to leaders Liverpool. The North Londoners have also played a game more, after a 1-1 draw at Fulham last weekend.
Arsenal have won their last three encounters against Everton, who are 15th in the table. The clash pits together the teams with the most set-piece goals scored this season, with only Arsenal (7) having netted more than Sean Dyche’s men (6).
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel has returned to training and the Brazil international is in contention to return at centre-back. Myles Lewis-Skelly impressed on his first European start against Monaco, though the teenager could make way for Jurrien Timber. The Dutch defender was handed a partial rest in Europe and started on the bench in midweek.
Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White remain longer-term absentees, while the clash could come too soon for either Riccardo Calafiori or Oleksandr Zinchenko to return to action.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Rice, Merino, Odegaard; Saka, Trossard, Havertz.
Arsenal host Everton in the Premier League on Saturday 14th December 2024. Kick-off at the Emirates Stadium is 15:00 GMT.
Arsenal vs Everton will not be broadcast live to a UK audience.
