Arsenal want to sign Eintracht Frankfurt full-back Nathaniel Brown this summer, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is already working on reinforcing his defensive depth at the Emirates Stadium club, and the ‘very fast and very creative’ German international is on the Gunners’ radar.
Brown is expected to leave the Bundesliga club this summer, but the North Londoners are not the only ones keen.
Bayern Munich also want the versatile 22-year-old defender, and Arsenal will hope to pip them and other suitors to his services.
Brown plays at both left-back and right-back, and he also plays further forward on both flanks.
His attacking and defensive qualities have attracted the Gunners, and getting a deal done before the World Cup could be in their best interest.
The Frankfurt star is expected to be a starter for Germany at the World Cup later this month, and an impressive campaign could see his value skyrocket and attract more bigwigs.
Arsenal have quality full-backs, but not many of them are as creative as Brown in attack, and Arteta could do with that particular skill-set next term.
The Gunners boss wants to retain the Premier League title next season and also win the Champions League, and he needs to sign players capable of improving his team.
Brown fits the bill given his huge potential, versatility and style of play, and luring him to North London could be huge for Arsenal.
They will aim to continue improving at both ends of the pitch as they seek domestic and continental dominance going forward.
The German is a player capable of getting the job done and Arteta could be willing to pull out all the stops to sign him.
