Chelsea, meanwhile, have set a deadline for clubs interested in Enzo Fernandez, with Atletico Madrid closing in on Cristian Romero and Tottenham defender Djed Spence edging closer to a move to Inter.

Here are the latest transfer stories hitting the headlines today…

Arsenal hold fresh Konsa talks

Arsenal have held fresh talks with Aston Villa over a potential move for Ezri Konsa, but a significant gap remains between the two clubs’ valuations, according to The Daily Mail.

The Gunners are understood to value the England international at around £40m, while Villa want closer to £60m for the 28-year-old.

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their defensive options following William Saliba’s injury, with Konsa emerging as a target.

Arsenal consider £38m Martinelli offer

Arsenal are also weighing up a £38m offer from Galatasaray for Gabriel Martinelli, according to The Times.

The Turkish champions have made the Brazilian winger one of their leading targets and have formally tested Arsenal’s resolve with the proposal.

Martinelli’s future is therefore one to watch as Arsenal consider whether to accept the offer.

Man City reject improved Rodri bid

Manchester City have rejected an improved offer from Barcelona for Rodri.

The latest proposal is understood to be worth around £55m, but City are holding out for a significantly higher fee for the Spain international.

Reijnders in advanced Al-Qadsiah talks

Manchester City are in advanced talks with Saudi Arabian side Al Qadsiah over the sale of Tijjani Reijnders.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the clubs are discussing a deal worth around €60m for the Netherlands international, although the midfielder still needs to give the move the green light.

Reijnders only joined City last summer but could now leave after just one season as the club reshapes its midfield.

Chelsea set Fernandez deadline

Chelsea have told interested clubs they must make a formal offer of at least £120m for Enzo Fernandez by 5pm BST on Friday if they want to sign the midfielder this summer.

Manchester City are among the clubs interested in the Argentina international, with the Blues making their position clear that Fernandez will stay unless their valuation is met.

Atletico close in on Romero

Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal worth around £34m to sign Tottenham captain Cristian Romero.

The Argentina international is now closing in on a move to Diego Simeone’s side, with the clubs having reached an agreement over the transfer fee.

Spence move to Inter edges closer

Djed Spence also looks set to leave Spurs, with his move from Tottenham to Inter getting closer, with negotiations between the two clubs progressing, according to BBC Sport.

Inter have been pursuing the versatile defender and are now reportedly nearing an agreement with Spurs over a permanent transfer.

The move would see Spence return to Italy after his previous loan spell at Genoa.
