Posting on Instagram following this weekend’s game for the Arsenal u18s, Louis Zecevic-John confirmed fears that he’d suffered an injury during the match, adding that he’ll be “back soon”.
Zecevic-John was forced off in the 23rd minute of Arsenal’s game against Brighton on Saturday, with the Gunners already 1-0 down.
The Gunners ended up losing the match 3-2, and there are now serious concerns over whether Zecevic-John will be fit to play in the Youth Cup quarter-final at the Emirates Stadium this week.

The winger had impressed in his previous appearance for the u18s against Southampton, scoring one, assisting three, and even playing a part in the other goal of Arsenal’s 5-2 victory.
The only positive to take from Arsenal’s subsequent defeat and Zecevic-John’s early exit from the fixture is that his substitute replacement did very well.
Brando Bailey-Joseph came on for Zecevic-John against Brighton, and he scored a fantastic curling goal. The youngster has been involved in first-team training with Arsenal recently, and if Zecevic-John is out, he’ll need to be the one to step up on Friday.

As for Zecevic-John, Arsenal will hope that he really is back “soon”. After Friday’s game, the u18s return to league action with derby matches against Spurs on March 8th and Chelsea on March 11th. It’s a big few weeks for the team.
