Like the men’s team against Sheffield United on Monday night, the Gunners started on fire and ended the game as a contest in less than 20 minutes.

Stina Blackstenius bagged a brace either side of the 10-minute mark, the first being a devastating finish into the roof of the net and the second a header from close range.

Frida Maanum then got in on the act in the 18th minute, sweeping home in clinical fashion from the edge of the box.

Blackstenius completed her hat-trick five minutes before half-time as Arsenal threatened to run riot. The Swedish forward was again on hand to head home inside the box past Anna Leat in the Villa goal. All three of her goals were assisted by Beth Mead, making it a double treble of sorts.

All four of Arsenal’s shots on target amazingly resulted in goals in the first-half.

With the game over, the second half was played out at half pace as Arsenal stormed into another final, where they will play either Manchester City or Chelsea.
