Arsenal failed to extend their winning run, drawing 1-1 with Chelsea on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s side were in a perfect position to seal victory when the Blues were reduced to 10 men after Moises Caicedo was dismissed in the 38th minute.
But despite their numerical inferiority, the visitors took a shock lead through Trevoh Chalobah early in the second half.
Although Mikel Merino levelled the scores in the 59th minute, Arsenal couldn’t secure maximum points from the Stamford Bridge encounter.
The result keeps the Gunners at the top of the Premier League, but Manchester City have moved to within five points of them courtesy of a 3-2 victory over Leeds United.
Arsenal will play Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday before an away clash with Aston Villa next weekend.
City will clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage in midweek before hosting Sunderland on Saturday.
Chelsea will travel to Yorkshire to face Leeds United ahead of another away game at Bournemouth.
