Arsenal’s recent interest in Real Madrid star confirmed | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid found himself on the transfer radar of one of English football’s leading clubs last season.

That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Arda Güler as the player in question.

Youngster Arda is for his part of course fresh off a fine opening to the new campaign.

Finally fulfilling his potential in the colours of Real Madrid, the Turkish international has enjoyed a new lease of life under the watch of Xabi Alonso.

Just last season, though, Arda was for the 2nd year running struggling in efforts to carve out a prominent place for himself in Spain’s capital under the watch of Carlo Ancelotti.

And in the knowledge of as much, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal gave real consideration to a move for the 20-year-old.

That’s according to the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, who also notes, though, that Arda never took into consideration a departure from the Santiago Bernabéu.
