FIFA said in a statement to media at midday on Tuesday that Arsène Wenger has publicly distanced himself from president Gianni Infantino.

Wenger serves as the governing body's chief of global football development, a post he has held since 2019.

He has also been criticised for his alignment with Infantino.

His move came a few days after Infantino abandoned a project to create a commercial company to sell shares in the World Cup.
