Arteta backs Chelsea to be Premier League title contenders this season

Mikel Arteta believes Chelsea have “every ingredient” to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Arteta’s reigning champions take on the Blues on Sunday with both sides having won their opening two games of the campaign.

Chelsea have emerged as potential contenders this season, with Arteta admitting their squad, manager and fixture schedule could help them compete near the top of the table.

“I think they have every ingredient to be in the highest part of the table, that’s for sure,” Arteta said.

“Knowing him, knowing the history of the club, the quality of the squad that they have, the schedule that they are going to face in relation to other teams, so it’s very, very possible that’s going to be the case.”
