Arteta hails Arsenal as ‘joy to watch’ after Chelsea win | OneFootball

Mikel Arteta has said his Arsenal team are a ‘joy to watch’ as the Premier League champions extended their perfect start to the season with a win against Chelsea.

Arsenal overcame Chelsea in a gripping London Derby at the Emirates, as goals from Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard cancelled out Morgan Rogers’ early opener for the visitors.

The win was Arsenal’s third consecutive to start the season, as the Gunners begin their title defence with a perfect record.

Arteta was disappointed with the early opener his side conceded after just two minutes, but praised the fight – and support of the fans – as Arsenal roared back in style. He hailed the reaction of his side and said Arsenal are a ‘joy to watch’.

“Very disappointed with the way we conceded the goal but it is also a credit to them and the finish that Morgan [Rogers] had. But it was a joy to watch our team play, compete, some huge individual performances as well and the atmosphere in the stadium was great to witness.

“I’m interested in the way we reacted. We demand another layer of dynamism, threat and aggression and you have seen that today.

“We are very happy and we need to continue to raise the bar and look to improve every single time because there are still a lot of margins to do so. We need to enjoy the victory because it was a big one today.”
