Mikel Arteta says he hopes to have Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori in the squad for Wednesday’s Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen.

Both were forced off during Arsenal’s FA Cup win over Mansfield Town but trained ahead of the trip to Germany.

And Arteta says a final decision on their involvement will be taken on the day of the game.

“Those two, there’s a possibility that they are available and we’ll see tomorrow how we use them,” he said.

Martin Odegaard and Ben White remain sidelined, however, but Arteta will welcome back Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, William Saliba and Gabriel.

Arteta also says he is excited by what a fit and firing Kai Havertz can bring to his side.

“Now it’s been three weeks that he’s had total consistency in terms of training and preparation and game time,” Arteta said on the German.

“We’re going to continue to load that because we know how Kai can impact this team.”
