Konyaspor are reported to be considering a move for Sunderland defender Arthur Masuaku this summer.
According to Yeni Açık, the Super Lig club have identified the 32-year-old left-back as a potential target after he joined Sunderland from Beşiktaş last summer, returning to England following his West Ham spell.
The DR Congo international was signed to bring experience and depth on the left of Régis Le Bris’ squad but struggled for regular minutes. He then joined RC Lens on loan in January for the remainder of the 25-26 season.
His longer-term role on Wearside is uncertain as Sunderland reshape for Premier League, Europa League and domestic cup commitments. Reinildo Mandava is an established option at left-back, while Aji Alese and Leo Hjelde can also cover that side.
Sunderland are expected to weigh suitable offers for players unlikely to feature regularly, with outgoings important under Premier League and UEFA squad-cost rules.
Masuaku’s experience in Turkish football with Beşiktaş could appeal to Konyaspor as they assess defensive additions.
