Key midfielder and captain Arthur will make his 100th appearance for Grêmio on Saturday against Cruzeiro at the Mineirão, with kick-off at 20:30 in the 12th round of the Brasileirão.

Negotiations with Juventus have not progressed, leaving his future unresolved, and Italian side Como are among the clubs interested. Gazzetta dello Sport reports the 29-year-old is valued at 6.5 million euros.

Arthur returned in August last year on loan from Juventus until June 2026 and has been a guaranteed starter under Mano Menezes and now Luís Castro. He remains under contract with Juventus until June 2027, and Grêmio could explore extending the loan for a lower fee, with the player having repeatedly expressed a wish to stay.

He made his senior debut for Grêmio on 4 February 2015 under Luiz Felipe Scolari, a 2-1 defeat to Aimoré in the Gauchão, his only outing that season.

Back with the first team in 2016, he became a regular in 2017 under Renato Portaluppi and was central to the club’s Copa Libertadores triumph that year.

Arthur’s first spell brought 70 games, six goals and four assists. Since returning, he has made 29 appearances and scored once, against Avenida in this year’s Gauchão opener.

Born in Goiânia, he came through Goiás’s academy before moving to Grêmio in 2010 at 14. His honours include two Gauchãos, the 2018/2019 Spanish title and 2018 Supercopa, the 2020/2021 Coppa Italia and Supercoppa, and the 2019 Copa América with Brazil.
