Zwane adamant Usuthu should be higher up the table

AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane says his team should have been at the summit of the Betway Premiership table a long time ago.
Usuthu suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday, falling to a late goal from Marcelo Allende.
AmaZulu remain fifth on the log standings as they accumulated 30 points from 18 league outings, and are eight points off the top of the table, having played one game more.
Zwane believes his troops deserve to be sitting atop the table, citing the dropped points in the closing stages of some matches throughout the campaign.
“Some of the points that we have dropped, trust me, AmaZulu would have long been number one. People maybe think I'm mad when I say this because people watch football differently, but I'm telling you now,” he stated.
"We went to Sekhukhune we were leading 1-0, dying minutes just like today, we conceded. We went to Magesi we were leading, referees optional time [we conceded], the game was finished. So you take all those points, we went to Kaizer Chiefs it was the same.
"Trust me there's a game we lost here [in Durban], we did not deserve to lose that game against Polokwane City, so I'm talking nine points. But that's football for you. We're sitting here today [Tuesday], we all know that we don't deserve to lose the game tonight [vs Sundowns]. We could have done better because we gave everything but that's football for you.
While he laments lapse in concentration, the former Kaizer Chiefs mentor acknowledges that AmaZulu also won games they didn't deserve to win, and insists his side is among the top attacking teams in the league this season.
“And there's other games that we also won that probably we did not deserve to win because the opponent on the day created more chances than us. But if you can go and check the stats, we are probably one of the [best] attacking teams,” Zwane added.
"If there's Pirates, Sundowns, we are up there. So, it tells you that you might see when you look at our system when we play - it's fine you can see it that way but we still create chances and sometimes we hit you with that one, but before you look at that one, probably we've missed four.
