Ivory Coast head coach comments on rumors of Women's Africa Cup of Nations 2026 postponement.

"As long as it's not official, we'll keep working," says Reynald Pedros.
Uncertainty surrounds the Women's Africa Cup of Nations as teams continue their preparations for the tournament. The Ivory Coast head coach was asked about the situation after their 2-1 friendly win over Benin on Saturday, February 28.
Reynald Pedros believes it is important to stay cautious and focused on preparing for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, which is officially scheduled to kick off on March 17 in Morocco. Pedros stated: "As long as it's not official, we'll keep working." The French coach is treating the news with extreme caution.
We have an appointment with FIFA anyway until March 7. We have matches scheduled. So, if we go to the Cup of Nations, those will be preparatory matches. And if we don't go, they'll be friendlies and we'll try to keep working.
The Ivory Coast team has scheduled a second friendly as preparation against Kenya on March 4 at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpé.
