AS Monaco have confirmed the departure of head coach Sébastien Pocognoli, who took over in October. The club said in a statement that their collaboration had ended.

The 38-year-old Belgian had succeeded Adi Hütter after arriving from Union Saint-Gilloise. He leaves with a record of 16 wins, 9 draws and 13 defeats.

Monaco were halted in the Champions League play-offs despite a competitive two-leg meeting with PSG, losing 2-3 then drawing 2-2.

The campaign concluded with Monaco in seventh place in Ligue 1, a finish that brings a play-off to reach the Europa Conference League.

In its brief note, Monaco thanked Pocognoli and his staff for their commitment, and wished them well for the future.
