AS Roma have refused Paulo Dybala and Nahuel Molina permission to travel to Argentina for Lionel Messi’s farewell against Benin, with both players left out by Lionel Scaloni.

The match is scheduled in Buenos Aires between Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 October. Dybala and Molina were not named for this fixture or the two earlier friendlies against Bolivia and Burkina Faso.

Both have played alongside Messi for Argentina and were crowned world champions in 2022.

Roma did not mention Matias Soulé, who has been called up by Scaloni and will be in Argentina.
