AS Roma were among the clubs linked with a move for Teun Koopmeiners during the last transfer window. They attempted to sign him so that he could reunite with Gian Piero Gasperini, who previously managed him at Atalanta.
The transfer never materialised, and Koopmeiners remains an important member of the Juventus squad. The Bianconeri hope that the midfielder can rediscover his best form, although he has struggled to demonstrate his quality since joining the club.
Koopmeiners is now in his third season at Juventus but has failed to show consistently that he can perform at the required level. However, the club cannot simply allow him to leave unless the financial terms are acceptable.
The men at the Allianz Stadium still regard Koopmeiners as a player who should suit their team, and the Dutchman remains confident that he can return to his best form in Turin. For now, Juventus want to assess his progress, but they are also open to considering a departure.
A report from Tuttojuve claims that the Bianconeri hope Roma will make a serious approach for the midfielder. Koopmeiners is viewed as a major underperforming asset within the Juventus squad, and the club want to recover at least €25 million when he leaves at the end of the season.
That valuation reflects Juventus’ desire to avoid making a significant loss on the player. They will continue to monitor his performances before deciding whether to retain him or encourage a transfer.

Koopmeiners would likely be open to joining Roma, particularly because he would be working under a manager who understands how to bring out the best in him. His previous relationship with Gasperini could help restore his confidence and improve his performances.
A move to Rome could therefore benefit both the player and the club. Roma would gain a midfielder familiar with the manager’s methods, while Juventus could recover part of their investment in an underperforming player.
For now, Koopmeiners remains focused on Juventus, but the possibility of a summer transfer is becoming increasingly realistic. Much will depend on whether Roma make a serious offer and whether Juventus’ €25 million valuation can be met.
