In one of the more unexpected appointments of the season, Ashley Cole has been named manager of Serie B side Cesena FC until the end of the season.
The Italian side have appointed Cole on a contract until the end of June though should the former England defender prove his worth then there is an option for renewal for next season.
Cole replaces Michele Mignani who was in his second season in charge of the club but dismissed after just one win in his last 10 games.
I Cavallucci Marini (or the Seahorses) are currently eighth in Serie B which would qualify them for a spot in the preliminary round of the promotion play-offs.
The former Arsenal, Chelsea, and Roma man will begin his managerial career on Tuesday evening when Cesena face a trip to take on 14th-place Mantova 1911.
