After loan spells at Austria Wien and Elversberg, Fisnik Asllani is back at Hoffenheim - and the striker wasted no time making his mark in the club’s 2025/26 Bundesliga opener.
The 23-year-old striker first scored the equaliser before later setting up Tim Lemperle for the winner in Hoffenheim’s 2-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen
After the game, Asllani made it clear just how much his first Bundesliga goal meant to him.
“I have waited a very, very long time for this moment, because in the previous years things didn’t work out for me right away. That’s why today was a dream come true for me and my family. Scoring my first Bundesliga goal really makes me extremely proud,” Asllani said, according to Kicker.
“I’m extremely happy. After two years away, to come back here and immediately get such an awesome away win in Leverkusen in the very first game is a great feeling,” he added before stressing that Hoffenheim’s victory was built on collective strength.
“What a team performance, the way we pushed today. We go down 0–1, then two players go off injured, and we have to compensate with new players, but we do it so strongly. Even those who came on were immediately up to speed. A huge compliment to the team for this game.”
