Asociación Corco Futsal launches first tournament with cross-border field | OneFootball

The newly formed Asociación Corco Futsal has kicked off its first tournament with a pilot Torneo Clausura at a packed Gimnasio Municipal across both days, bringing together 10 teams from Corcovado, Cerro Centinela, Carrenleufú and Palena, Chile. According to SuperDepor.com, the event is run by the Dirección de Deportes de Corcovado under its director and association president, Gabriel Austin, with a view to federating the sport next season.

The competition is an all-play-all across nine rounds, the first two matchdays were staged on Saturday eight and Sunday nine August. After the regular season, the top four will advance to the semi-finals.

After the opening weekend, Transporte Aymar, Don Futsal and El Ciclón lead on six points apiece. Transporte Aymar beat Los Amigos 9-0 then El Porvenir 11-4. Don Futsal saw off Abrojal B 7-3 and Ruta 17 8-1, while El Ciclón defeated JDJU Performans 7-2 and Abrojal B 3-0.

Elsewhere on Saturday there were 2-2 draws between Ruta 17 and Despensa Nico, and between El Porvenir and Carren. On Sunday, Los Amigos beat JDJU Performans 5-3.

The women’s event also began, featuring three teams. After two rounds, Unión and Juventud lead on three points each after both beating Star Girl, with Juventud winning 3-1 on Saturday and Unión prevailing 4-2 on Sunday.
