A 2-1 win over Jonathan Norbye's Norway saw Assan Ouedraogo and Robert Ramsak qualify for the semi-finals of the U19 European Championship on Friday night. Germany required a late comeback in Voluntari, started by our midfielder Assan Ouedraogo, who fired in a stunning equaliser.

"There has already been a bit of banter, especially when Antonio Nusa has been around. We just need to win the game - I don't want to have to be on the receiving end of more banter when I'm back in Leipzig. I'd rather not give Antonio the satisfaction (laughs)," said Assan Ouedraogo before the start of the tournament.

Germany will now face the dangerous Spain on Monday in the semi-finals (17:00 CEST).

Dramatic turnaround for Germany

After an incredible 5-5 draw against England in their second group game, Germany once again played out a thriller against Norway. Hanno Balitsch's team went behind after a goal from Norway's Granaas in the 72nd minute.

RBL midfielder Assan Ouedraogo was able to get Germany back in the game after coming off the bench, smashing in a sensational shot from outside the box with five minutes to go.

El Mala then won it for Germany in the first minute of injury time after a mistake from Norway goalkeeper Saetren, who the let the ball slip out his hands, allowing the future 1. FC Köln striker to book Germany's place in the semi-finals.

Assan Ouedraogo was brought on in the 79th minute, six minutes before he made it 1-1. Robert Ramsak came off the bench in the 71st minute.

Three starts

Jonathan Norbye (captain of RBL's U19s) was handed a professional contract in April, valid until 2028. The 18-year-old started all three of Norway's group games at centre-back.
