Leeds United resume their fight for Premier League survival at third-placed Aston Villa on Saturday, with injuries shaping both squads. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, four players are ruled out, six are doubts and three have returned.
Both clubs were in FA Cup fourth-round action at the weekend. Villa hosted Newcastle United and lost 3-1. Leeds drew 1-1 at Birmingham City before winning 4-2 on penalties to reach the fifth-round draw.
Villa remain without Boubacar Kamara, who is set to miss the rest of the season after a knee injury in January's FA Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur. Youri Tielemans has an ankle problem and is thought to be sidelined for around eight weeks, while captain John McGinn underwent knee surgery last month and is believed to face about two months out.
There has been brighter news for Unai Emery's side. Ross Barkley, back in training recently, took minutes off the bench against Bournemouth and Brighton, then started the Newcastle cup tie and played around 65 minutes. Right-back Andres Garcia returned to the squad and was an unused substitute after four games out with a hamstring issue.
For Leeds, number nine Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed Tuesday night's league trip to Chelsea through illness, returned to training before the Birmingham tie and came on in the second half. He looked sharp on his comeback, which represents a significant boost before the visit to Villa Park.
