Aston Villa and Newcastle hold interest in Chelsea-bound Emanuel Emegha | OneFootball

Emanuel Emegha (22) to Chelsea is a straightforward move. As per Foot Mercato, the Dutchman will remain with RC Strasbourg Alsace before making the move to fellow BlueCo-owned side Chelsea in the summer of 2026. However, according to L’Équipe. there were other interested parties.

Emegha will not join Chelsea this summer. Instead, he will remain at Strasbourg, who next season will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The former Sturm Graz forward is expected to sign a six-year deal with the Premier League side. Given that Strasbourg and Chelsea share the same owner, negotiations have not been difficult.

It has meant that interest from elsewhere became largely irrelevant, even despite the calibre of the suitors. As per L’Équipe, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Red Bull Leipzig, and Napoli were all interested in signing the centre-forward. However, Emegha will now keep within the BlueCo galaxy and remain with Liam Rosenior’s side for the next 12 months.
