Aston Villa and Newcastle United are still in the mix for West Ham target Jean-Clair Todibo, who is adamant about joining Juventus this summer.

West Ham have an agreement in place with Nice to sign the defender on a loan deal with an obligation to buy that could reach up to €40m.

However, their pursuit of the centre-back has fallen off the rails as the Frenchman has made it clear that he wants to join Juventus.

They are yet to make a concrete move for him but Todibo has continued to remain on their radar this summer.

However, if they try to sign him Aston Villa and Newcastle would still have to face the challenge of convincing the player to consider the move.

Nice want his other suitors to match West Ham’s offer but it is unlikely that Juventus will table a bid close to those figures.
